CityU Presents at Ed Tech Conference

Staff from CityU’s Library & Learning Resource Center and eLearning departments presented at the second annual Washington State Higher Education Technology Conference, “Building Bridges,” held April 14-15, 2016, in Spokane, Washington.

The session entitled Data-driven Narratives — led by Mary Mara (director, library services), Carolyne Begin (associate director, library instruction), and Al Ybarra (instruction librarian) — provided examples of how CityU’s library is utilizing data to demonstrate the impact information services and resources have on student achievement and retention. The data collected is an extension of the library team’s Assessment in Action research completed with the Association of College and Research Library in 2015. In collaboration with CityU’s I.T. department, data-views are under development that will inform efforts to continually improve services and resources in support of student success.

The session entitled Leveraging LMS Assessment Tools in a Comprehensive Approach to Student Outcomes Assessment, led by Erin Noseworthy (director, eLearning) shared CityU’s success implementing secondary rubrics to assess student achievement of program learning outcomes as well as CityU Learning Goals.
